Put Customers First
Saturday, April 2nd, 2011Is there a secret to starting a successful business? Some might say that having an amazing product or understanding the economics of supply and demand are the keys, but a better indicator is the way in which companies treat their customers. Good companies usually provide quality customer service , but the truly great companies go just that much further and make their customers feel special.
The idea of putting customers first isn’t really a new one. It just tends to get lost in the multitude of tasks involved in the daily running of a business. If a company doesn’t make a conscious and consistent effort to impart this value in their employees, they will eventually let customer service slip down the scale of importance.
This is terrible mistake, though all too common. Top notch customer service leads to loyal customers and loyal customers mean repeat business. It also means more referrals that lead to new customers. A company with a proven reputation of good service has more sales and better longevity than those that leave customer service as an afterthought.
